Why i like Opera Browser?

I think today why i like Opera and why i dont use another browser like IE, Netscape and Mozilla Firefox (who is used by most people)

1. The Speed

I think is the fastest browser. I see many tests about browsers and i decide to make one. I chose a website, my site (www.piticstyle.com) and i opened him with Internet Explorer, Opera and Mozilla. This is the results:

  • Internet Explorer:  15 seconds
  • Opera: 4 seconds
  • Mozilla: 10 seconds

2. The ShortcutsI like to use shortcuts in my Browser. In opera when i copy a webpage form another document or browser i press only CTRL+B and the page is open. In Mozilla you dont have this Option.

When you want so search on google you only need to type g (from Google), your keyword and Enter!

You have this option for another sites and you can personalize it

3. Another optionsFor the people with low connections he have options for rendering the website. You can set to

  • Show Images:
  • No Images:
  • Cached Images:

You can read your Feeds in Opera:

Your E-mail:

And many options, like widgets, great bookmarks, voices and mouse gestures.

In the end i have to recognize the good quality of Mozilla in rendering website in special CSS. Thank you! In the mainpage you have a pool where you can vote what is your favourite browser.

I don’t like Opera. A simple test that you made won’t convince me Opera is better than Firefox. It’s only a good alternative for IE but the best alternative is Firefox, I guess it also depends on the way you got used to use a browser. Opera started by showing banners and paying for some pro version with no ads. Well, Firefox is more like a charity browser, found on most Linux distributions, created by a non-profit organization, plus it has this add-on explosion. I really think people in a short time turn on using Firefox instead of Opera. I understand u like the speed of it and other tricks that he can do… Anyway most of what you’ve shown us here, Firefox can also do. You, as a webmaster should support and appreciate what’s free, good, with no complications.

I have used Opera for few minutes at Romtelecom, when I had some time and wanted to “test” the speed (to be read as: wanted to stay online free for some minutes :D ).

I wasn’t impressed at all. It seemed too “bulky” for my taste.

I have used Firefox for 2-3 years I think and I cannot be yet convinced to use anything else. I have all I need with it ..

The only thing I don’t like about Opera: I can’t select text and IMAGES from a web-page to copy them in a Word document for example.

The only thing I don’t like about Firefox: opens slow.

    I need a third option!

About the article: These are nice functions but 1, there are much more of them 2, I guess all of them can be done on Firefox with extensions

NEO: “A simple test that you made won’t convince me Opera is better than Firefox.” Agreed. :)

“best alternative is Firefox” As you think…

“Well, Firefox is more like a charity browser, found on most Linux distributions, created by a non-profit organization,” Oh, statue for Firefox! :D the Mozilla does have income, doesn’t it? I guess, that Firefox is good, but really overhyped. Most people using it (for fashion reasons), don’t even use any extension. And FF without extensions is far-far away from Opera.

“I really think people in a short time turn on using Firefox instead of Opera.” I REALLY doubt that! Most Opera user admits, that FF is a very good browser, but don’t like the ‘base browser + 25324532 extensions’ idea. They (me included) like the all-in-one design. This also has drawbacks but what hasn’t any? FF get pretty strong contender with the years, but Opera still has leading innovations (Speed Dial, History Search, online syncronisation). I guess Opera looking for a hopeful future in many aspect. Maybe the user base is small, but strong :) . On the other hand the hard-core fans are only a small part of FF user base.

“You, as a webmaster should support and appreciate what’s free, good, with no complications.” You think, that FF is without complications? There is no such software. Anyway, why SHOULD someone happy about FF? Because it’s open source? I don’t care about that, that think is overrated. Anyway, he wrote about why he likes Opera, and didn’t say that Firefox suxx… He’s happy with FF,but much happier with Opera :P .

Dojo: Bulky? Exactly what I think about Firefox. It feels like a tank (that’s not so bad, anyway) . Try an other Opera skin, and try Opera 9.5 beta on next Thursday. :)

Opera rocks, firefox is not that good .forget ie.load any website,in opera ,they load fater thanks to the text part of a site being loaded earlier which is later followed by images, videos etc.But in firefox and ie almost 100% of all images and texts has to be completely loaded before viewing the page.Don’t believe…check cnn.com,bbc.com.webshots or any other heavily loaded site and u will c what i mean Try using all the 3 browsers(opera, firefox,ie or even maxthon ) and by chance if u firefox lovers have a so called thing called a brain(heard of it i hope) u will have to agree. There is no bigger proof than this.Opera rules but firefox is formidable because of it’s enormous collection of addons which is difficult to match. And who says firefox is most secure, opera is no less asfer Botomline ,Opera is the fastest (even in startup),period.

And by the way another upcoming browser is Safari;though it has already arrived, security and compatibility has got to be improved by heaps but even then,it is remarkably fast especially at startup.
