Today we learn how to add a imagine into a text! It is a easy tutorial with few steps and a great result! In this tutorial I use a picture with an BMW and if you want to do like me save the next picture:

Final result:

[Step 1] Create a new document in Adobe Photoshop with an white background. My document have this size: 500 x 250 pixels.
[Step 2] Select the Horizontal Text Tool and type the text where you put the picture

[Step 3] Open the picture with BMW in Photoshop and select it! To do this press CTRL + A or go to Sellect and chose All. Now copy your image ( CTRL + C ) and paste it ( CTRL+V ) in the first document. Automated a new layer is created.

Reducing your Flash Player file sizes is no longer so important because many people now have high-speed Internet connections. But not everyone does. So it still isn’t a bad idea to spend a little time thinking about shrinking the size
of your Flash movies.

Simplifying artwork

By simplifying the artwork in your movie, you can greatly reduce the size of a Flash movie, thereby increasing its speed. Here are the most important techniques:

Use symbols for every object that appears more than once. You can turn any object or group of objects into a symbol. Nest your symbols — for example, turn an object into a symbol and then use it in a movie clip or button. Remember that you can change the color of symbol instances — you don’t need to create a new symbol.

Group objects whenever possible. Groups are almost as efficient as symbols.

Use vector graphics rather than bitmaps when you can. When you do use bitmaps, don’t animate them unless you need to. Bitmaps and bitmap animation can increase your Flash Player file size and thus the download time. However, with the rising adoption of broadband Internet access, bitmaps are an increasingly important part of Flash projects

Optimize curves (choose Modify➪Shape➪Optimize). You can optimize curves to reduce the number of lines used to create a shape. This can be tiresome on a large project, but if you really need to reduce the size of your Flash movie, this may help.

Use solid lines rather than dashed, dotted, and other line types when possible. Try to avoid custom line widths

Use the Pencil tool rather than the Brush tool whenever possible. The Pencil tool uses fewer bytes in your movie.

Use the Web-safe color palette. Avoid custom colors. Custom color definitions are kept with the Flash Player file.

Avoid using transparency when you don’t need it. Using transparency doesn’t make your Flash file bigger, but it can slow down playback because of the extra calculation required. (On the other hand, sometimes transparency effects make your movie look really great.)

Use solid fills rather than gradients. Gradients are more complex and make the Flash Player file bigger. However, gradients are also key to the Flash look that is so popular. They help to make vector graphics look less flat

Optimizing text

Text can consume lots of bytes. Here’s what you can do to reduce the byte bite:

Reduce the number of fonts and font styles (bold, italic) as much as possible. Use simpler sans serif fonts if you can. You get the best results file-size-wise with the device fonts (sans, serif, and typewriter), although you might find these device fonts boring. Flash doesn’t need to store the outlines of device fonts in the .swf file, so these take up fewer bytes. And usually your Flash projects will look better if you don’t use too many fonts — a useful rule in the graphic design world is to avoid using more than three fonts in a design.

If you create text fields, limit the text and specify any restrictions that you can in the Character Options dialog box.(Choose Window➪ Property➪Properties to open the Property inspector if it’s not already open, and then click Character in the Property inspector to open the Character Options dialog box.) For example, exclude unnecessary character outlines, such as numbers.

Compressing soundYou can compress sounds to reduce the file size. When you compress individual sounds in the Sound Properties dialog box, you can fine-tune settings for each individual sound in your movie. Use the MP3 format whenever possible because it compresses well.

Here are some other ways that you can reduce the size of your sound files:

Adjust the sound’s Time In and Time Out points to prevent silent areas from being stored in your .swf file.

Reuse sounds by using different In and Out points and by looping different parts of the same sound.

Don’t loop streaming sound.

Animating efficiently

One of the most effective ways to reduce file size is to use tweens. Frame-by-frame animation creates larger files. Keeping animation localized in one area also helps. Small animations (animations where the objects don’t move much) produce smaller file sizes than wide-area animations.

Today we learn how to create play on click button in Flash CS3! Here is the final result!

To add some great sound to your Flash movie, you must first import the sound. You can import AIFF, WAV, and MP3 sounds. Flash places these sounds in your Library.

Sounds vary in sample rate, bit rate, and channels. These statistics are important because they affect the quality and size of the sound file. Of course, the length of the sound also affects its size. Here’s what you need to know:

Sample rate: The number of times the recorder samples an audio signal when it’s recorded in digital form. Measured in kilohertz (kHz). Try not to use more than 22 kHz unless you want CD-quality music.

Bit rate: The number of bits used for each audio sample. Sometimes called bit resolution. A 16-bit sound file is clearer with less background noise, but use 8-bit sound if you need to reduce file size.

Channels: Typically one channel of sound (monophonic) or two channels (stereophonic). In most cases, mono is fine for Flash files and uses half the amount of data that stereo uses.

Often, you need to take a sound as you find it unless you have software that can manipulate sounds. Luckily, you can set the specs of sounds when you publish your movie to an .swf file. You generally get the best results by
starting with high-quality sounds and compressing during publishing ( Information from Flash CS3 for Dummies ebook)

Before to start this tutorial you need a sound file, I found a website with free beats ( HERE you can download the beat from my example) and a icon to create a button.

[1] Open Flash CS3 and create a new Flash File (ActionScript 3.0)

[2] Import to Library your sound file and your icon ( File -> Import -> Import to Library )

[2] Put the icon on the stage nad convert it into a Button

[3] Double click on the button to enter inside of it

[4] Now create a new layer for the sound file

[5] Select Layer 1 and on Down layer insert a frame and a keyframe for the Hit Layer

[6] It’s time to put the sound file on the stage. Select the Sound layer and on Down
layer insert a keyframe and a frame for the Hit Layer

Click on the Down layer, go to Library and put the sound in the stage

The Animation Tween

If your animation follows some simple guidelines, you can save yourself lots of work (and reduce your file size, too) by using Flash to calculate the in-between frames for you automatically. You create just the first and last keyframes, and Flash figures out what should go in between. In animation technobabble, that’s called tweening — a quick, fun way to create great animations.

You can do a lot with Flash’s tweening capabilities, including:

Motion tweening: This is definitely the most common type of tweening. With simple motion tweening, you can move your objects in a straight line from here to there. You can use motion tweening also to animate an object along any path that you create, even one with lots of curves.

Shape tweening: This type of tweening gradually changes any shape to another shape. You create the first and last shapes. These days, kids call it morphing. The results may be quite unpredictable and require a lot of computer processing but are usually interesting. You can add shape hints to try to tell Flash exactly how you want your shape to morph.

And with both motion tweening and shape tweening, you can:

Change an object’s size: For example, if you make an object smaller as you move it, the object often appears to be moving away from the viewer.

Rotate an object: You specify the amount of the rotation. Flash combines the motion or shape tweening with the rotation so that you get both effects at one time.

Change color or transparency or both: Flash creates a gradual change in color based on your starting and ending colors.

Note: Information from Flash CS3 for Dummies ebook. Let’s start the tutorial!

[1] Open Flash and create a new Flash File (ActionScript 3.0)

[2] Save the next picture and drop it in your document.

[2] Click on the first frame and place the image at up right corner.

[3] Now create a keyframe where you want to end the animation

Now with frame 20 selected click on your image and place it on down left corner.

Click on the next image to enlarge

[4] It’s time to create the motion tween. Click anywhere but not on the last frame and
in the tween properties select Motion

Click on the next image to enlarge

[5] Test your Movie ( Go to Control and select Test Movie or click on the first frame and
press ENTER )

[6] That’s it! Now Save your result ( Go to File and select Publish )

Thank you and you can see the final result here!

Today we learn together how to create a simple effect in Flash. You can buy or download (trial version) the software from here. Here is the final result!

Who Framed the Animation?

The secret of animation in Flash, as in the movies, is that nothing ever really moves. A Flash movie creates the illusion of movement by quickly displaying a sequence of still images. Each still image is slightly different. Your brain fills in the gaps to give you the impression of movement.

One of the great things about Flash is that you can easily create complicated, spectacular extravaganzas of animation. And Flash stores lots of information in the super-compact vector format. Because the files can be small, they can be transmitted over the Web quickly. That’s good for your Web site viewers.

Just as in a movie on film, each still image is contained in a frame. Each frame represents a unit of time. You create the animation by placing images in the frames. A frame can contain one object or none or many, depending on how crowded a scene you want to create.

Time is your ally in Flash because you have complete control over it. You can look at each individual image in time and tweak it to your heart’s content. Then you can step on the gas, play everything back at full speed, and watch everything appear to move.

In Flash, you create animation in three ways:

Frame by frame: You move or modify objects one frame at a time. This frame-by-frame animation is time consuming but is sometimes the only way to create complex animated effects. This method can certainly satisfy your appetite for total control.

Tweening: You create starting frames and ending frames and let Flash figure out where everything goes in the in-between frames, which is why it’s called tweening. Tweening is much more fun and easier than frameby-frame animation. If you can create the animation you want by tweening, it’s definitely the way to go. Flash offers two types of tweening:

motion tweening and shape tweening, both of which we describe later in this chapter, in the section “The Animation Tween.”

Timeline effects: You choose from a list of prebuilt animations, adjust a few settings, and then instantly apply them to your text, graphics, buttons, or movie clips. Flash automatically creates the tweens for you. This cool feature of Flash takes the automatic creation of animation to a whole new level.

In tweening, the starting and ending frames are called keyframes because they are the key moments in time that the software uses to calculate the inbetween frames. Tweening not only means less work for you but also creates smaller files (which download faster) because you’re describing your animations more concisely. In frame-by-frame animation, every frame is a keyframe because every frame defines a change in the action. (Information from “Flash CS3 for Dummied” ebook)

Let’s start!

[1] Open Flash and create a new Flash File (ActionScript 3.0)

[2] Select Text Tool and type the first letter from your text.

To understand more about Text I put some settings on my text. Font _sans and bold! Look in the next image where to change this!

My text will be PITICSTYLE saw the first letter is P

[3] To create this example we work only on a layer. Now click on the frame 5 -> right click and select insert keyframe

[4] Now I type the next letter from frame 5 to frame 10 (here insert keyframe)

[5] Do this step for every letter from your text! If you have 5 letter you need to have 25 frames!

[6] Before to save you can test your result! Go to Control and select Play or Control and Test Movie

If you select Test Movie a pop-up window will open

[7] Now if everything is ok you need to save your result. Do to this go to File and select Publish. Now if you go in the location where you save the project you will see 3 files:

filename.swf

AC_RunActiveContent

filename.html

Open filename.html and you will see the result in your browser. That’s it, here is the final result!

An action is a way of automatically applying a technique to an image using a prerecorded series of commands. Actions are triggered either by pressing one or a combination of keys or selecting the action from the Actions palette (1). Many actions
are already supplied with Photoshop and can be found at the bottom of the Actions menu (2) by clicking on the side-arrow at the top right of the Actions palette.

An action can be as simple as opening a new canvas or as advanced as creating a drop shadow on an existing picture or, as
in our example, making snow.

Ready-made actions can be downloaded from the internet, saved to your hard drive and then installed in Photoshop. Use the Load Actions command (3) in the Actions menu to search for and install the downloaded ATN or Photoshop Actions fi le.

You can also create your own Photoshop actions using the Record mode, so if there are techniques you fi nd particularly
fiddly or ones you’ll want to use again, record the commands as you run through them and assign the action a shortcut key.

1. Actions can also be applied to several images in one go using the Batch command or created into droplets.

2. If a command cannot be recorded you can insert it manually using the Insert Menu command.

3. If you make a mistake, keep going, you can edit the script later.

4. Some settings may need modifying for different images. Clicking on the box to the left of the action will stop the script at thatpoint and bring up the dialog box so you can manually adjust before continuing the script.

TUTORIAL – How to use Actions

To open Actions window go to Window and select Actions

Let’s work! First you need a photo and actions ( Download HERE )

[1] Open your photo, open actions window and load Kubota Actions from the archive

Load actions

Select a package ( I use Kubota Mini Actions ) and press Load

[2] Now let’s to put some effects on the photo. Select B&W and press Play Selection

press play actions

And that’s it, look at the next picture to see the result

Try other effects from the package, play the soft glow actions, the result is great

Note:
- The source of actions definition is from Adobe Photoshop CS3 A-Z ebook
- If I have time i put some links to download more actions

Thank you and leave a comment for my motivation!
